I offer non-pathologizing therapy for clients of all genders, neurotypes, and sexualities. I specialize in working with:
-
Our brain is a language-making machine. It produces over 6,000 thoughts per day. Most of the time this serves us well, as it enables us to think critically, problem solve, and engage in stimulating conversation. However, the language produced by our brain also fuels our worry, stress, and anxiety.
Our analytical mind often hops into a time machine to ruminate on our actions from the past or worry about future events. This part of our mind tends to be critical, tedious, and very persistent. You may find yourself down rabbit holes of overthinking, agonizing, or even fantasizing. You likely notice that your mind tends to grasp onto certain ideas, stories, or associations. The thing is…just because your mind thinks something, does not make it true. However, the worries inside our head often feel like facts to us and end up taking control.
By engaging in therapy, you are giving yourself the time and space to take a closer look at the stories that you tell yourself and to become more in-tune with the deeply embedded thought patterns your brain has created. You will be able to observe your thoughts, loosen the grip on them, and live a more engaged, fulfilled life.

I am an LGBTQ+ affirming and celebrating therapist. I am committed to providing an inclusive space aimed at empowering clients to embrace their most authentic selves. I work collaboratively with each person and affirm that they are the expert on their lived experience while I exist as a guide and support in their therapeutic journey.
Each therapy session will look a little different, but common themes may include:
providing a supportive space for individuals in all stages of their exploration of self
exploring gender identity, gender expression, and sexuality
coping with the impact gender dysphoria and societal stigma may have on mental health
working through the coming out process
enhancing social and peer support
strengthening self-compassion and promoting resilience

From an outsider’s perspective, you may appear to have it all together but inside you feel confused, lost, isolated, and down. You have come a long way and have achieved some major life goals but the next step brings about uncertainty, fear, and worry. There is still so much to do and so many responsibilities to navigate. How is this possible?
These thoughts and feelings can be very isolating, but you are not alone. Major life transitions are tough! Through therapy, you will be able to get in touch with what what matters to you and create a path forward. At times, the path may feel quite messy and a bit bumpy but having a dedicated space in therapy helps to keep you on track.

I work with autistic, ADHD, and highly sensitive individuals from a neurodiversity-affirming framework. Being neurodivergent means that you see and process the world differently than the neurotypical people around you. You may feel that you don’t quite fit in, others just don’t understand , or that the world outside your bedroom is incredibly overwhelming.
Early on in therapy, we will work to increase understanding. Deepening your own self-awareness while receiving validation and support from a neurodiversity-affirming therapist can be exceptionally healing. By being seen and feeling understood, you can be empowered to create a path forward where we appreciate and honor your uniquely awesome brain.
Rather than teaching people ways to blend in, I help neurodivergent individuals let go of what isn’t serving them and tap into their innate strengths, passions, and potential. I offer support in learning ways to advocate for yourself to create comfortable boundaries so that your environment may feel more suitable to your sensory, social, learning, or attentional differences. My aim is to assist you in navigating a neurotypical society that does not always see and appreciate your differences. I will empower and support you as we celebrate your successes while also providing a safe space for your moments of pain and discomfort.

Many people who come into therapy start to unpack trauma that they have experienced over the course of their life . Understanding the root of your distress, having those experiences validated, and treating yourself with compassion and understanding can be highly empowering and therapeutic .
Talking through trauma can be scary and activating. That is why we will go slow. First, is trust. I will provide a warm, safe space to establish trust and connection in the therapeutic relationship. As you feel ready, I will start the process of trauma treatment by building your resource toolbox. You will learn grounding techniques, visualization, mindfulness exercises, and other coping skills that have shown to be effecting in regulating the nervous system. By practicing these skills when your nervous system is calm, you will be better equipped to use them when processing past events. We will decide if you’d like to talk through the memories verbally or through visualization and will integrate a variety of treatment strategies through this process.
If you are seeking therapy for trauma treatment, know that we will move at your pace. You can and should be vague about the details at the outset of treatment. We will only go deeper when you feel the time is right. I commend you for taking this step and am here for you whenever you are ready.
